Dysport is a sterilized extract from bacteria that now has FDA approval. Dysport is made from Botulinum toxin Type A. And similar to Botox Cosmetic, Dysport can be used to treat facial scowl lines, facial frown lines and crow's feet, which deepen with age. It is injected into a facial area temporarily weakening the muscles that contract causing facial lines. With the muscle unable to contract deep furrows can be softened and over time, these facial lines diminish.

Developed in the early 1990's, Dysport was first used in Europe and is still being used under the name Reloxin. Over the years Dysport has proven to be safe and effective. Dysport is a competitor to Botox Cosmetic and is essentially used the same way. Dysport is more concentrated than Botox Cosmetic.
