Reloxin is a sterilized extract from bacteria that is currently pending FDA approval. Reloxin is made from Botulinum toxin Type A. And similar to Botox, Reloxin can be used to treat scowl lines, frown lines and crow’s feet, which deepen with age. It is injected into an area temporarily paralyzing the muscles that contract causing facial lines. With the muscle unable to contract deep furrows can be avoided.
Developed in the early 1990’s, Reloxin was first used in Europe. Over the years Reloxin has proven to be safe and effective. Once approved for use in the U.S., Reloxin will be a competitor for Botox.
