Reloxin is a sterilized extract from bacteria that is currently pending FDA approval. Reloxin is made from Botulinum toxin Type A. And similar to Botox Cosmetic, Reloxin can be used to treat facial scowl lines, facial frown lines and crow's feet, which deepen with age. It is injected into a facial area temporarily weakening the muscles that contract causing facial lines. With the muscle unable to contract deep furrows can be softened and over time, these facial lines diminish.

Developed in the early 1990's, Reloxin was first used in Europe. Over the years Reloxin has proven to be safe and effective. Once approved for use in the U.S., Reloxin will be a competitor for Botox Cosmetic.
